Waboomsrivier Co-op to sell new range in UK

Published by at 3:32 pm under Companies

Waboomsrivier Co-operative, a winery close to Worcester, South Africa, has appointed Besós UK as its exclusive distributor in the UK, according to this press release and the Harpers website TalkingDrinks.com.

The interesting aspect is that Besós UK won’t buy wine in bulk from the co-op, but rather bottled. And there will be a new range under the WagenBoom label. The range is expected to be available later this year, Besós UK said.

Commenting on the agreement from South Africa, Mike Wakefield of Besós UK said: “Wabooms is one of the finest wineries in Worcester, with 1,400 hectares under vine. We’re over the moon with this new venture.”

Slow, slow. Maybe “delighted” would have done. Worcester is not that amazing… It’s hot out there and the alcohol levels high! In 2006 Waboomsrivier Co-op didn’t even bother to co-operate with the guys compiling that year’s Platter Guide.
