Four months after Trevor’s Budget speech in February, it is now clear to what extent he had “misjudged” the local and international economic environment when drawing up his Budget. Consequently, most of his budgeted numbers will be way off target. [Read on]

Trevor’s 2008 Budget is another reason to believe “populism” or “socialism” will not rule in South Africa under Zuma, after all. It was another solid, balanced Budget in the mould we’ve come to expect of the man.
